Nathan Haines
Sunday, 2 November
,From 4pm

Felons Barrel Hall welcomes Aotearoa’s own Nathan Haines, the pioneering saxophonist, producer and global jazz-house innovator. Backed by a powerhouse seven-piece band, vocalists and special guests including UK soul futurist Steve Spacek, Haines brings his signature fusion of deep disco, Latin boogie, and Balearic jazz house, steeped in South Pacific warmth and soul. Expect a joyful, floor-filling journey through decades of groundbreaking music from one of New Zealand’s most enduring musical exports.
A true originator of the “jazz house” sound long before it had a name, Haines has collaborated with icons from Jamiroquai and Damon Albarn to Kaidi Tatham and Phil Asher (RIP), his work remixed by Kenny Dope, Atjazz and Ashley Beedle. After surviving a life-threatening throat cancer scare during the making of his latest album Notes, Haines returns more vital than ever — master of his horn, master of his craft. This spring, the Barrel Hall transforms into a live house temple beneath the disco ball — a rare chance to witness a legend in full flow.
