Following the release of their debut EP ‘Introducing’ back in May, Square are by far the bounciest punk-rock outfit within 200 km of the Brisbane River.
The band have accrued live performances with the likes of Miniskirt, Johnny Hunter, toured with The Empty Threats, and have only broken one mic stand in the process (they now follow a strict bring-your-own-mic-stand policy and hope venue bookers reading this passage won’t hold it against them).
Students of classic British acts like Blur, The Stone Roses and Happy Mondays, Square wear their influences on their sleeve, while forging a new sound that imprints a humid, gone-troppo flavour on the British post-punk tradition.
It is the band’s dream that Peter Garrett finally uses the door spot he’s automatically allocated at every show.
