THE TOOTHPICKS + DOPAMINE
Friday, 27 September
,Doors from 8pm
Two incredible bands, one epic night - this one is not to be missed!
THE TOOTHPICKS
Since forming in 2022, the Toothpicks have blasted their way into Australia's indie rock scene, releasing a trio of irresistible tunes, selling out four 200+ capacity headline shows, rocking Someday Soon, winning a slew of band competitions, and playing a formidable 87 gigs in 2023 alone.
After an explosive start to 2024 supporting Lime Cordiale, Pacific Avenue and The Smith Street Band, alongside their own sold-out Great Southern Nights headline (and all without any form of artist representation), the Toothpicks are primed and ready to earn their place within the vibrant, eclectic international music landscape.
Inspired by the fearlessness of heroes like Arctic Monkeys, The Beatles, Amy Winehouse, Jeff Buckley and The Strokes, their sound is gleefully uncategorisable - a maelstrom of garage, funk, pop, disco and jazz which throws absolutely everything at the wall and makes damn sure it sticks.
DOPAMINE
The four-piece, who made a splash in 2021 with their fresh take on guitar-driven rhythmic rock, have been wasting no time in ensuring their impact has been felt across the country. Turning industry heads is one thing, keeping them focused on their next steps is another. And with the release of their new single, ‘Don’t Mind Anyway’, Dopamine is locking in and showing us that the recent wait for new music is more than worth it. A song about self-belief and shunning any negative energy from naysayers, ‘Don’t Mind Anyway’ perfectly captures the fun energy of the group, and their strong sense of… well, self. Their sonic identity and vision, clear and defined early on in their career, was an early drawcard of the band and here, they take that natural confidence in songwriting and performance up to a new level.
Doors from 8pm. Free entry. Hall yeah!
